Harley Grace!

Harley Grace Richardson was born 6/6/2012 at 6:26pm.  She was 7lbs 12oz and 20" long!  We were so surprised and thrilled that she was a girl.  Colt thought she was a girl the whole time, we should have listened!  Can you tell who is who in the pictures?  When Harley was born I didn't think she looked anything like Colt, but Mike was sure she did.  After looking through Colt's pics there are many similarities.  The top pic is Colt and the bottom is Harley.  Harley was 3oz heavier and just a touch shorter than Colt.  I was induced with both and labored the same amount of time with them.  We are so thrilled that she is here.  Colt is an AWESOME big brother and such a great help.

                                                                 Our first walk.
Harley's first bath after her umbilical cord fell off.  Colt was taking pics!

Harley isn't the best sleeper, but who is at 2 weeks.  Her umbilical cord got infected at 1 week and we had to take her in and get it re-cauterized.  She also is jaundiced.  She is getting less yellow everyday and her levels are going down so no intervention has been needed.  She appears to be allergic/sensitive to pampers so we had to switch to huggies.  I think she has very sensitive skin.  Everything seems to make her red.  We also think she may have reflux!  She spits up A LOT and isn't the happiest baby.  We are watching her this week and if it doesn't get better we are taking her back to the pediatrician.  We are praying that it isn't reflux, one kid was enough for us with reflux.

We are really enjoying her and can't believe she is 2 weeks already.  Colt is doing amazing with her.  She is so lucky to get him as a big brother!  We can't wait for everyone to meet her!

May 2012

May has proven to be just as busy as the rest of the months!  We have been enjoying some nicer weather, minus the rain.  We got to go to a Twins game with awesome tickets courtesy of Cargill!  Colt loved it!  He had a little trouble holding still but when doesn't he!  Throughout the entire game he kept telling us that he wanted to catch a ball.  Towards the end of the game a random guy came up to him and asked if he would like a ball that he caught.  Colt was thrilled!  It completely made his night.

Colt and Mike also planted a garden.  Colt chose carrots and watermelon.  I am not sure how they will grow in the pasture with the horses but we will keep our fingers crossed.

Geema and Grandpa Mo came to visit and the boys went fishing.  Now Colt asks to go almost daily!  He wants to catch a muskie!  Thanks to Grandpa Mo he has his own tackle box and everything.  The lakes here seem to have plenty of fish (small ones) so Colt doesn't get bored!

One of the big events this month was Colt learning to ride his bike without training wheels on Mother's Day!  Mike just took them off and away Colt went.  No teaching necessary! He has had a couple of crashes but he always gets back on.  I am very proud of him, but it does make me nervous.  He now wants a bike that has a jack on it (a kickstand).

We went to the horse races for Mike's birthday.  I think we may have a gambler on our hands.  Colt picked a horse for every race and then cheered it on!  He picked number 4 every time!  He really had a good time.  After the final race they let the kids on the track to race.  He lined up and took off!  He was near the front and didn't stop at the finish line.  He kept going!  The announcer was telling him to come back!  I think he thought he had to run the entire track!  Mike had to go and get him.  He said it was the best part of the whole day.

Funny things Colt says:
Skunscreen  (sunscreen)
Weed weet (weed eat)
Kiweed (kiwi)
"I am so glad I am me!"
"Wouldn't that be horrible if you didn't have a lawn-mo-mo-mower (lawnmower) and had to weed weet the whole yard!"
