Happy 3rd Birthday Colt!

With the train cake, train ride, and train presents, Colt had an amazing train 3rd Birthday! He had lots of Grandparents here to help him celebrate too. He didn't want anything to do with Mike or I the whole weekend! We started the day with Lamar's donuts of course and then opened presents shortly after. We had a HUGE 6 footer sub sandwich (we are still eating on it today)for lunch! The big excitement was the train ride to Union Station. Colt was so surprised when the train stopped and we got on! They had a model train display at Union Station and Colt was in awe!

Colt has wanted train cake after every meal since his party, thank goodness it is gone! Not only did he want to eat it, but I had to light the candles, sing Happy Birthday to him, and let him blow out the candles every time he got a piece. I even had to sing Happy Birthday to him to get him to go to sleep one night. I think it is safe to say that he had a great Birthday. Thanks to everyone that made the trip and thanks to everyone for the gifts and love. We really are blessed to have such an awesome family.

The top pics are from last night. Downtown Lees Summit had their tree lighting ceremony complete with Santa and all. It was down at the train depot and honestly Colt was only interested in watching for a train and was quite disappointed when we didn't see one!

Happy Halloween!

Colt had a great time last night trick-or-treating! We had our 3rd annual pizza and trick-or-treating with our friends Sara, Jerod, and James. He really got into it this year, and didn't want any help going up to the doors. We also went to a few pumpkin patches this fall. Colt liked the hay rides best I think, mainly because he could watch the tractor pulling us. He isn't much for carving pumpkins. He did not want to touch the "guts" but did enjoy eating the seeds later! He had the camera (turned the wrong way) while Mike and I were carving them. He would take a picture of us (which really was of his face) and say, "Good job Momma!" I think I had 50 pictures I later had to delete. We are trying to enjoy the nice fall weather before it turns cold. Colt is getting ready to move up to a new room at daycare. He tells me he doesn't want to, but I know he will love it. The 3's get to use the Exploratorium which is really cool so I know he will enjoy it. We are also working on recognizing letters and he mostly can recognize all of them. Although he had found that it is much more fun to haul the alphabet flash cards in this tractor rather than work on them with me. Next on our list is Colt's Birthday so stay tuned!

We have been having lots fun enjoy the last of summer. We had lots of fun in Fullerton at Grandma Rhonda's house. We also got to ride on a train and eat hot dogs (a perfect day in Colt's world). We are enjoying Rony Pony and will have even more fun when we get the saddle. Colt loves leading her around. Colt has learned the phrase "Maybe for my Birthday?" when we are shopping. He has now asked for nearly everything for his birthday. He has also learned how to lock doors. He wants to go to the bathroom all by himself and if I am not quick he is in there with the doors locked. I am not sure what I am going to do about that one.

We had a great trip to NE (minus the plane ride home)! Colt couldn't get enough of all of his cousins. We had a blast at the pool party that Papa and Grandma Pam threw for the grandkids. Colt had his first taste of homemade ice cream thanks to Papa, and he loved it of course. He got to ride with Grandpa Mo in the tractor and scoop rocks! He didn't want to stop. He loved checking the cows and riding the four wheeler too. It has been so hot here that we aren't able to play outside like we would like to. We have been keeping busy lining up the trains and tractor though.
